Service Ministries

“The proof of love is in the works.” – Pope Saint Gregory the Great
“Do not forget that true love sets no conditions; it does not calculate or complain, but simply loves.”     – Blessed John Paul II
“Just as in a physical body the operation of one member contributes to the good of the whole body, so it is in a spiritual body such as the Church.  And since all the faithful are one body, the good of one member is communicated to another; everyone members, as the Apostle says, of one another [Eph 4:25].  For that reason, among the points of faith handed down by the Apostles, is that there is a community of goods in the Church, and this is expressed in the words Communion of Saints.”
 – Saint Thomas Aquinas

Service  volunteers generally work as team members where they can manager their time working as little as one or two hours a week; or occasionally; or more often and regular.

All Ministry Volunteers must complete the Diocese Safe Environment Training Program. To sign-up for and complete this training go to: https://stpetersburg.cmgconnect.org/.

Maintenance/Ground Work

Assistance is always appreciated with special projects as well as the regular upkeep of the Parish buildings and grounds.  Most work requires the ability to perform manual labor and general mechanical aptitude.  Volunteers are contacted as needs arise based upon skills required.

Special Events

Assistance is always appreciated with special events.  Volunteers are contacted as needs arise and generally opportunities are posted in the bulletin.

Money Counters

If you are good with numbers, pay close attention to detail, enjoy working with others, you will want to serve on one of our “3” rotating teams to count the offertory gifts.  Under the direction of leaders appointed by the pastor, teams alternate in working Monday mornings and Feast Days for 3-4 hours a shift, depending on the number and size of the collections.  New members must successfully pass a Level ll Background Check.

Church Environment

This team is responsible for beautifying the worship space with floral arrangements and other appropriate ornamentations during the different liturgical seasons of the Church (i.e.,  Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter and certain Feast Days).

Under the direction of the leader, members help with the planning, setup and maintenance involved in decorating for holy days, special devotion and liturgical season requirements.  Member should be faithful to their commitment, enjoy being a team member and willing to follow the direction of the team leader.
