Jesus is alive! I believe that statement to be true as he lives in my heart and mind. I carry Him with me as the Holy Spirit and I see that same spirit in my blessed wife and many of the sick and injured people to whom I bring communion.

Many times, as the body of Christ sweetly dissolves in their mouths and becomes one with them, that glorious magic occurs as I see them become more alive. Their eyes begin to appear to sparkle and well up with tears of gratitude upon receiving Christ.
Hope is indeed alive “For he shall rescue the poor when he cries out, and the afflicted when he has no one to help him” (Psalm 72:12). God is with us just as He promised.
Alleluia and Amen.
Jim Greenmun and his wife Gail started attending mass in the old St Anne Church. Gail was Catholic and Jim was not but one day, he received an invitation letter from Sister Marian and the rest is history. Both later became Eucharistic Ministers and have been so ever since. Jim brings communion to those in nursing homes and to the home bound.
Whenever I read the genealogy of Christ in Matthew, I always think the same thing “just get to the point!” That may sound bad, but why shouldn’t we just get to the point? Doesn’t it all end with Jesus?

I hope I’m not the only one who feels this way, maybe you have felt this way in some moment of your life where you just wanted to skip all the boring unnecessary painful waiting and just get to the point. While this would be ideal, we would miss the joy of waiting (and many other things) that prepare us to receive and appreciate God’s blessings. I know in my own experience I have felt the frustration and anxiety of not knowing what my purpose or vocation is in this life. I still feel this way at times, but I now find joy in waiting and trusting in God’s plan for my life.
What is an area in your life where God may be calling you to be patient? How can you find joy in waiting?
