Information on Indulgences for Year of St Francis

The Year of St. Francis of Assisi, proclaimed by Pope Leo XIV, offers a unique opportunity for Catholics to obtain a plenary indulgence. This indulgence is granted under the usual conditions: sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion, and prayer according to the intentions of the Holy Father, with a heart detached from sin. It may also be applied in suffrage for the souls in Purgatory.

To obtain the indulgence, participants are encouraged to visit any conventional Franciscan church or place of worship dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi, participate in Jubilee celebrations, and perform daily acts of charity and humility that express the spirituality of St. Francis. Special consideration is given to the elderly, the sick, and those unable to leave their homes, who may also gain the indulgence by spiritually joining in the celebrations and offering their sufferings and prayers to God.

Tickets will go on sale (online only) starting Monday, March 31st. The price is $45 per person and there is limited seating.

“Click here beginning March 31st to purchase your ticket“.

In preparation for the trip and in honor of the Year of St. Francis Fr. Higinio will hold a presentation in the church on Tuesday, May 5th at 2:00 PM. The hour-long talk includes information about St Francis, his life, history and detail about the upcoming trip.

Everyone is welcome.
